Founded in 2019, TITCHTECH started under the name "driftstitch". At this time, we were heavily involved with the motorsport 'Drifting' including commentary and event organisation. Since then, we have expanded into many forms of the automotive sector, thus the need to change the name.
Starting in 2010, Titch gained a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Motorsport whilst at college. From here he sought finding a job within the automotive world and gained experience within one of the South West's leading Japanese Tuning companies.
With his automotive experience, he gained a job role managing a go-karting business called South West Karting. Here, he was involved with the every day running of the business and maintenance of the karts. Whilst here, he was able to teach young budding drivers how to navigate a circuit quickly and get into the world of Motorsport - legend has it that in 2015 he raced Lando Norris, and won. One now drives for Mclaren F1, and one is sat here writing this - who do you think did better in life?!
Titch always wanted to get 'back-on-the-tools', and found himself working for a local independant garage, gaining valuable experience within an general automotive workshop. He gained his DVSA MOT testers license and was offered a position within a Volkswagen/Skoda dealership. He has always had a keen interest in the VAG group, so this was a no-brainer. In his years at the dealership, he visited the VW Training centre in Milton Keynes many times, and gained his IMI Accreditation. However, the dealership was not able to offer him the 'challenge' he required, so he joined a local independent VAG specialist - a garage with the correct vision of constantly improving, and spending money on every bit of equipment required for new technology emerging within the Automotive world.
Unfortunately, due to family commitments, Titch had to temporarily give up work, but always knew he wanted to expand his knowledge in the automotive sector. He wanted to explore different avenues, and ended up at one of the UK's leading Volkswagen conversion companies, part-time, eventually leading to a full time role. Converting brand new Volkswagen Transporters, he was a electrical technician, able to fit pretty much any consumer into a vehicle to suit the customers' needs. This also included the fitment of high end audio systems, coding and general modifications to the vehicles - whilst still keeping them under warranty.
Always looking to keep himself busy, Titch tries to be involved with automotive/motorsport as much as possible. He now is a certified Automotive Assessor, after a period of teaching Further Education Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repairs, applying all he has learnt over his years of experience, and giving young people the opportunity to thrive.
He is the main commentator for Castle Combe Circuit Action Days, to which you will regularly hear him over the tannoy commentating on the drifting or the event runnings. He also commentates for DriftMatsuri event such as Japfest, TRAX and more, all held at Silverstone Circuit - the home of British Motorsport, with crowds of over 15,000! You will often hear him commentating alongside the likes of Ian Waddington, AdamC2046, Sam Hard (hardupgarage) and many more legendary event commentators.
Titch is also part of Garage500 Drift Team, albeit not a driver anymore, he still is involved with the team which included the organisation of the AUTOFEST UK / GARAGE500 Drift Cup. Titch was the man behind the numbers, and was one of the key roles in organising scores, battles and awards - alongside commentating for the whole event!
